Investment of 2.9 million Euros announced for Social Point
The US firm Greylock Partners has announced a funding injectiom of 2.9 million euros in Social Point, the online social gaming outfit.
This latest injection takes funding in Social Point to 11 million euros over the last 12 months. Like Zynga, they produce games for Facebook and other social networks, and have gained many users of their games such as Social Empires and Trial Madness. The selling point of producing games on Facebook is that market appeal has been shown to be lasting, thus becoming eventually lucrative earners.
Social Point was created in 2008 by Andrés Bou, Horacio Martos and Marc Canaleta. The start-up achieved in excess of 16 million euros turnover in 2012, and now boasts of over 30 million monthly users.
