Marfeel - funding and expansion..
Marfeel provides touch publications on smart devices, that promises an immersive experience for the reader, the publisher and the advertiser. It's not the only start-up that are doing this (competitors include Flipboard, Pressly and OnSwipe), but as it's been described as one of the most promising start-ups on Earth perhaps we should take notice.
Already earlier this year it was taken onboard by the Wayra academy, and then in April 1.6 million euros of funding were announced for the venture, as described here on TheNextWeb - the largest element of this coming from Nauta Capital They intend to use this funding to expand globally - they have reached 4 million viewers of their content apps in just two years, and already have big clients in the Spanish publishing scene such as Expansion, CincoDias and Vozpopuli.
The company has come a long way since former Adobe employee Xavi Beumala launched it in October 2011, and with the non-distractive yet integral advertising spots it incorporates, looks like having more lucrative times ahead in the web publishing sector.
