PeerTransfer, the American start-up that facilitates international education payments, and founded by Iker Marcaide from Spain, has secured a 5 million euro investment round.
Investors in this round include QED Investors, FIDES, KIBO Ventures and Spark Capital. The money is to be used to develop new products and increase its global reach.
By adopting this system, colleges worldwide can accept payments from overseas students that avoids bad exchange rates and prohibitive fees. PeerTransfer works with over 350 educational institutions world-wide, and has already processed payments from over 190 countries.
